Year 2 Curriculum Update

Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you to all the children for their hard work during SATs. They were so resilient and achieve some very pleasing results.

In Science, we made bug hotels. The children produced some amazing hotels, which were very elaborate, using their imaginations to create cosy homes for all the mini-beasts to live in.

Our topic for Literacy and History was The Great fire of London. In literacy we imagined that we were orphans living on the streets of London at the time of the fire and they wrote some really good diary entries. As the teachers were reading their big writes, we really got a sense of what it may have been like for someone living there at the time. The children really enjoyed learning about this and carried this knowledge into their History lessons.
