  • Year 1 Curriculum Update

    The children have been learning about the different seasonal changes in the UK.  In Geography, they have learnt about the four seasons – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and have looked at what happens to nature around us during the seasons.

    In Science, they have been learning about how the length of the day changes and varies from season to season. They had a lot of fun investigating this using shadows and their shapes.  They learnt that shadows will get longer during the day and will be at their longest at dusk, before the sun sets. They created shadow puppets, pretended their torches were the sun and tried to make the shadows longer and shorter.

  • Reception Curriculum Update

    In reception this half-term our project was ‘Sunshine and Flowers’. This seasonal project provides opportunities for outdoor learning and teaches children how to care for the plants and animals in their local environment and how to stay safe in the sun.

  • Year 5 and Year 6 Girls Cricket Festival

    Year 5 and 6 girls from Belmore represented our school proudly at the HillingdonGirls Cricket Festival on Thursday 18th May. Cricket is a much-loved sport, played and celebrated all around the world - particularly in countries such as Australia, South America, West Indies, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

  • Year 2's Beach Hut Adventure

    This term in Year 2 we made Beach huts! While we were making our beach huts we also wrote instructions on how the make them as we were learning about writing instructions in literacy and our geography topic in the spring term was about coastlines.

  • Year 3 and Year 4 Golf Festival

    Belmore girls from years 3 and 4 represented our school proudly at the Hillingdon Y3/4 Golf Festival on Wednesday 17th May, which was hosted at Barnhill Community High. This event was an aspire event which gave the children the opportunity to play golf.

  • Reception Mini Beasts Workshop

    The educational visit from Zoolab provided our reception children with an extraordinary opportunity to expand their knowledge and deepen their connection with the natural world. Through interactive encounters with various mini beasts, they were able to gain firsthand experience, pose questions, and uncover a wealth of information about these captivating creatures. This remarkable workshop has undoubtedly kindled a lasting curiosity in the minds of our children, nurturing their enthusiasm for scientific exploration and fostering a sense of wonder for the diverse creatures that inhabit our planet.

  • Year 5 Swimming

    The Year 5's began the Summer term with a big splash! Swimming and water safety are national curriculum requirements and essential life skills for our children. The children were responsible throughout the 2-week crash course and did very well travelling on public transport every day safely.
