Year 3 Trip to Kew Gardens

As part of Year 3s ‘Plants’ topic in Science this term, we embarked on a journey to Kew Gardens where we immersed ourselves in the wonders of nature. We explored the very warm Palm house which is home to plants that are found in a rainforest.

We also had the opportunity to walk around the Waterlily House, where we saw huge lily pads that grew up to 3 metres wide. We ventured up The Hive, a striking installation in the heart of a wildflower meadow that recreates life inside a beehive.

It was very fascinating to see! After a lovely picnic on the grounds of Kew, the children had the opportunity to visit and play in the children’s garden. Overall, it was a memorable and educational trip!
