Sports Premium
At Belmore Primary School, we believe that physical education and sports plays an important role in a child's development, with the potential to change young people's lives for the better. We welcomed the Government's announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding for 2 years to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. We have used this funding to develop the quality of PE lessons across the school, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.
We are currently a part of the SHSSN (South Hillingdon School Sports Network) which enables us to have weekly access to a PE specialist teacher and the opportunity to take part in inter school, as well as intra school, competitions. We also have 'taster' sessions arranged for a range of different sports with local club links. We also have access to the SHSSN sporting events throughout the year for students of all abilities. This culminates in a festival of sports for students in Years 2 & 4. We have also invested in CPD for our staff, this included bespoke whole school PE development and individual courses. We have a full time PE teacher who delivers a significant proportion of the PE curriculum to students throughout the school.
