Computing
At Belmore, our Computing curriculum is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to navigate an increasingly digital world. We aim to inspire curiosity and creativity in technology, while fostering a strong understanding of the role computing plays in everyday life. Through a hands-on approach, we aim to develop students' ability to confidently use digital tools, think critically, and solve problems using technology.
Our intent is to help children develop key skills in areas such as coding, data management, online safety, and digital communication. We aim to encourage students to be both responsible digital citizens and innovative creators, able to use technology to express their ideas, collaborate with others, and solve real-world problems.
We also focus on ensuring that students understand the importance of staying safe online and developing good digital habits. By the end of their primary school journey, we want every child to feel confident using a wide range of digital tools, while also being aware of the ethical and social considerations of using technology.
Our goal is that students leave primary school with a strong foundation in computing, ready to explore, create, and thrive in an ever-evolving digital world. We hope to inspire a love for technology, empowering students to become confident, thoughtful, and responsible users and creators of technology in the future.
