RE
At Belmore, our Religious Education (RE) curriculum is designed to foster an understanding of the world’s diverse religions, beliefs, and values, while promoting respect, empathy, and tolerance. We aim to encourage our students to explore and reflect upon fundamental questions of life, morality, and human existence, helping them to develop a strong sense of identity and an appreciation for others.
Through a carefully structured approach, we provide children with the opportunity to learn about Christianity, as well as other world religions, exploring their teachings, traditions, and celebrations. RE at our school goes beyond simply learning facts—it encourages deep reflection and discussion, enabling children to develop their own moral frameworks and spiritual awareness.
Our intent is to create an inclusive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to explore and appreciate different perspectives, fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect. Through RE, students will develop critical thinking skills, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the diverse world they live in. We aim for our students to not only gain knowledge of religious beliefs but also to cultivate a sense of compassion, kindness, and global citizenship that will guide them throughout their lives.
We are committed to ensuring that all pupils leave primary school with a greater understanding of religious and philosophical ideas, an appreciation of the importance of respect and tolerance, and the ability to engage with the world’s diversity in a positive and meaningful way.
